Nāsadīya Sūkta, verse 1
नासदासीन्नो सदासीत्तदानीं नासीद्रजो नो व्योमा परो यत् ।
किमावरीवः कुह कस्य शर्मन्नम्भः किमासीद्गहनं गभीरम् ॥
nāsad āsīn no sad āsīt tadānīṃ nāsīd rajo no vyomā paro yat
kim āvarīvaḥ kuha kasya śarmann ambhaḥ kim āsīd gahanaṃ gabhīram
श्रवणं मननं निदिध्यासनम्
Indian tradition learns a text in three movements: first you hear it, then you think it through, then you let it settle until it is yours. Every BharatBeej course is built the same way.
१
The original Sanskrit, chanted, with each word lighting up as it is sung. Then the meaning, read aloud.
२
Verse by verse and word by word: what each word means, how the sentence turns, what the poet is asking.
३
Narrated reflections, the ideas behind the text, a glossary to return to, and a short quiz to make it stay.
पाठशाला
Each topic here is a small course. Start with an overview, listen to the original Sanskrit chanted while the words light up on the page, then go verse by verse, word by word, and into the ideas behind it.
